As part of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly have been allocated £132million to spend on local investment through the Shared Prosperity Fund. With a focus on green and inclusive growth, we’ll use our portion to achieve good growth for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, providing opportunities for communities and businesses and giving residents access to new jobs and training.
With world-class green industry capabilities and a desire to make Cornwall and Isles of Scilly carbon neutral by 2030, we’ve got the vision. And with our allocation of the UK’s Shared Prosperity Fund, we’ve got the means.
Through targeted investment in high value and high growth sectors, alongside efforts to improve the productivity of businesses across industries, we’ll deliver truly inclusive growth that’s locally relevant and nationally significant. We’ll put skills and training programmes at the heart of every Good Growth investment, which will elevate local talent and include a focus on increasing functional numeracy for adults across our population through the Multiply programme.
